Anchovies: Boquerones Ortiz
Anchovies are fatty fish that offer numerous health benefits:
- They are a source of high-quality protein.
- They are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, essential nutrients that our body cannot produce on its own.
- They are also an excellent source of vitamins A, D, E, and K, which help strengthen the immune system. We prepare our anchovies in extra virgin olive oil from organic farming. This oil is rich in oleic acid, which helps regulate cholesterol levels in the blood.
Our Production Process
We hand-fillet each anchovy individually. Then, we marinate them in white wine vinegar, which gives them a fine and delicate flavor unique to our method.
After Opening
To preserve their optimal flavor for up to five days after opening, we recommend the following:
- Store the anchovies in the refrigerator.
- Keep them well-sealed and fully submerged in olive oil.
- Adjust the oil level if necessary to ensure better preservation.
Preparation and Storage
We hand-prepare the anchovies and marinate them in white wine vinegar. Once they have reached their optimal ripening level, we preserve them in olive oil, seasoned with garlic and parsley.
For optimal preservation, the anchovies should be stored at a temperature between 0 and 4 degrees. We ship the products via Swiss Post Priority in chilled packaging. To ensure maximum freshness and quality, the product should be consumed quickly after receipt.
